Basic Information
Name: Jessica Davis
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Physical:
Not a day older than 20. That is what Jessica tells herself. That is what others tend to think as well. Her hair didn't make it through the years. From the blond it started out as when she was young, her hair is now white from stress. Early greying is also a family trait. She started growing her hair long. Now it is to mid back, but in her younger years it wouldn't go far past her jaw.
Jessica, however, isn't that young. Not any more. She was getting close to her thirties but a wrinkle has not yet shown on her face. In fact, she made sure nothing imperfect was visible on her skin. She was pale dispite working long hours in the sun. Her eyes were indeed brown, but, in some lights, they appeared to be red. Especially when she was angry it seemed.
Personality:
Rules with an iron fist. Or a crystal one in this matter. No one gets away with anything while she is around. Every form must be signed, every report must be given, every formality must be given. This is while on duty.
Out of duty Jessica behaves much differently. Formalities can slide and a drink or two can be shared among friends. It would be wine in a semi formal setting, she would rarely enter a bar to have a good time.
History(opt):
Jessica Davis wasn't some girl off the street. She was the daughter of the Davis household that remained an anonynous donator to the Amestris Military and government for generations. It wasn't unusual for the male line to join the military. However, more and more were being discharged for bribary to be promoted or for cover-ups. Eventually, the Military started to treat any Davis that entered the military with the idea that they were going to weild their money as a weapon. The female line never took interest in the military. Though not forced to, they lived the life that every girl should live.
The young blonde Jessica didn't want to take part in such a life. Jessica was born to the head of the family while they were in their mid fourties. An accidental child.
Jessica was raised as all of the girls of the family were raised. Private mentors and taught the fine life. However, she was daddy's girl and missed her classes just so she could hear old war stories from her father.
"That's amazing father!" Jessica would exclaim after every story and beg for another one.
"Would you like to learn how to fire a gun, Miss Jessica?"
In a blue white laced dress Jessica was taken out to the military's shooting range and taught how to fire a hunter's rifle.
School work was a sinch for Jessica, even with her missing class. Which might have been why she was able to miss so much without getting behind.
One day while Jessica was taking a tour of Central Headquarters with her father they were permitted to watch the State Alchemist Exam, from a good distance.
"Alchemy is like magic!" her father had said.
"Nothing is like magic, father. Just like you said, there is no such thing as miricals."
"Well, your father knows magic."
He drew a transmutation circle on a sheet of paper and placed a used bullet shell onto it. The shell turned into a sad looking flower.
"How did you do it? You have to teach me!"
During the alchemy exam, Jessica tried her first bit of alchemy. In those few hours, she had learned her father's magic trick that had taken him days to learn.
Jessica had studied alchemy till she was forteen with a few general tutors. That was when she turned to the military for the rest. With her dress on she would run into Central Headquarters and have fun flaunting her ability to shoot with her father's old rifle. She would then run to the State library and sit till she could find a State alchemist that she could brag about knowing some alchemy or beg to be taught something new. Till she met State Alchemist Marco, the Crystal Alchemist.
A majority of her lessons came from the Alchemist that was studying a substance called the Philospher's stone. She was many times lechered on how Alchemy was not a play toy, neither were weapons of war.
It was a year after Marco's sudden disappearance that Jessica took the state alchemy exam and passed using similar alchemy as the former state alchemist.
Tim Marco didn't teach Jessica of the military, or of war. He didn't lecture about how precious life was, and how eventually, you have to do what is right.
Jessica followed every order she was given in the time of riots. Those that opposed the military and the Fuhrer was taken into custody, wounded, or even killed. The only orders she broke were ones that she knew she could accomplish better. The ones that earned her the ranks and saved the lives of her fellow comrades.
Dog of the Military was a title that was branded on Jessica's head. It had brought pride back into the Davis name. Something her father was proud more than anything for. The stupidity of his previous sons and relitives was broken by the first woman that joined the military from the family, and his daughter. What pleased him even more was when at his death bed, Jessica told him that there wasn't a thing she wanted to do more in her life then to be in the military just like her father. This was the truth, not just some made up lie.
There was one order that she never obeyed. Once Jessica was advanced enough in her alchemy he started to teach her about the alchemic amplifier that he was creating. With her lack of formal knowledge she had figured out parts that Marco had left out that left the stone weak. Though no one knew she was actually taught how to make the fake stone, Brigader Gran layed down secrets that he wanted her to make the stones that Marco disappeared with years before.
"I don't know what you are talking about, Sir," She would say. He would then continue to ask her about it, and accuse her of lying.
"Dr. Marcoh might have been my teacher, but what would give him the reason to tell me State Military secrets?" That would end his asking till the next time.
The reason why Brique Gran was asking her for the stone made her not want to give the information. There had to be a reason why Marcoh kept the information secret. That might be why he wasn't with the military anymore. He was branded the deserter.
Jessica was stationed at the Western Headquarters most of the years that Edward Elric was terrorising the hillside with 'the Alchemist of the People'. She had missed the quest of Marcoh's notes. But she had payed him many visits before his capture and death.
During her visits he would say, "I hope you know what you are doing, with that title branded on your head."
"I do not have the power to challange the authorities. No offence Doctor, but I won't run away."
Usually that was at the end of her visit. Never did they end on happy terms. But there was a reason that Marcoh abandoned the military.
It was easy to tell that Marcoh was killed after being taken into protective custody. There was something wrong with the military, that was obvious. And little Edward Elric and his brother were the ones challanging. That and Mustang himself.
As Mustang was in the East, Jessica was in the West. There were few times that the two ever met. Those most was when the Davis family was throwing a ball and the ranked military was invited. It was known that Mustang flirted with her. But nothing stuck or was taken to seriously.
The military rebellion didn't effect the west directly. All of the fighting was in the East out of the Crystalline Alchemist's domain. She wasn't called into duty because she wasn't part of the rebellion and she had to take care of the West.
"Any of the rebellion may be shot on sight." Was the order given to her from the Fuhrer.
There was little resistance in the West as it was. But this was an order she didn't follow through either way.
"If you are against the military, feel free to go to Central and get yourself shot or be a hero. Do not expect any help from me."
The military had been doing some unethical things and she didn't support them. The rebellion wasn't something she supported even more. The term Humunculi was left out of what she heard.
Crash course in what really happened happened after the assasination of Fuhrer King "Pride" Bradley. The Military went through a complete remodel. The corrupt was taken out of the ranks (those that were still alive) and replaced by others. With the quick promoting, who knows what positions were filled with the wrong people. Jessica was promoted to Brigadier General.
The lack of action by Fuhrer Haruko during the attack on Central from the Beings on the other side of the Black Gate lead to the impeachment of Fuhrer Haruko and the nomination and accepting of Mustang. Jessica voted, yes for both situations.
The two years following the attack on Central hasn't had anything with much excitement. Filing paper work and sending the correct missions to those underneath. In the time of peace, the Brigadier General hasn't had much to exercise her abilities.
Abilities
Specialty:
Crystal Lattice Alchemy
Started by the Crystal Alchemist Tim Marcoh, Jessica made the alchemy to be better used in battle. Two arrays are needed to form crystal quickly and in a 'perfected' mannar.
One array turns the minerals that are found in the air and in the ground into a liquid and arrange the molecules into a crystal ready solution. If left alone, this solution would start growing crystals on their own.
The second array manipulates the solution and mimics the needed conditions to grow the crystals. This array forces the solution to make the lattice and solidify quickly nearly instintanious with the alchemic process.
The manipulation of carbon to form diamonds is the newest to her discovery and has been the subject to many of her assessment testing.
