(Yeah, this is Roy – hope no one minds if I make another character. I never make OCs, but this site really needs some antagonists around rather than just a bunch of military dogs, and I thought a new homunculus might keep things interesting.)
Basic Information
Name: Greed
Gender: Male
Age: Appears around 19 (actually less than 1 year)
Physical:
Greed has the appearance of someone in their late teenage years, despite the fact that he is in reality much, much younger. He is tall and thin, giving him an almost gangly appearance at first sight, though his weak appearance is nothing more than a deception to mask truly remarkable power, as is common in a homunculus. His hair is mostly white, cut roughly and unevenly to give him a messy appearance, though it is short around the nape of his neck, where the hair is actually black, creating a stark contrast to the mess on the top of his head.
His eyes are slate grey, and typically expressionless. Greed’s clothing can be considered nothing short of unique, usually consisting of long jackets and lots of belts with strange jewelry he either constructs or picks up along the way in his journeys. His clothing usually mimics the colours in his hair, being mostly black and white.
Personality:
Greed’s personality matches the title that he has taken, making him a very self-centred individual. He always puts his own wants and needs before anyone else’s, and is willing to do just about anything to get what he wants from life, or from others. Greed feels little guilt or regret over anything, which makes him even more willing to use – or even destroy – those around him to reach his own personal goals. He has a strong desire for having a lot of basically everything, whether that be food and drink, pleasurable company, or that which he seeks after the most – power, and the need for more and more of it all the time, never satisfied with what he has.
Greed’s personality type is very strong, and though when he wishes to, he can appear very calm and collected, it is never anything more than a ploy used to get more of what he wants. He is a master at manipulating others to his will, not afraid to lie or twist words in his persuasion. Greed has the innate ability to pick up on another’s weaknesses as well, and is more than wiling to exploit them in whatever ways that he can, and with his quick mind, he is often able to come up with devious plans and conspiracies on short notice. He has no loyalty, either, and even when he does work with someone else, in the end he often tosses them aside or exploits his own partners as well. He typically comes across as very loud, and very demanding, and only hides those personality traits when he absolutely needs to. His temper is also very short, and if he begins to realize that things are ever not working out as he wants them to, he explodes in unexpected and unpredictable fits of anger and violence.
As can be predicted, mercy and charity are feelings that are completely unknown to this particular homunculus.
History(opt):
As a homunculus, Greed was created as the result of a failed human transmutation. In his case, the person whom he was created to replace was a boy by the name of Ryuu. Ryuu and his twin brother, Ryota, both joined the military as State Alchemists one year apart from one other – Ryota when he was 18, and Ryuu accepted a year later at age 19. Together, the two were rarely from each other’s side, and they were a powerful team, using combined alchemy that resulted from their bond as brothers. While working together on one particular mission, however, a combined transmutation by the twins failed to stop an attacker, and before they could re-transmute something different, Ryuu was killed. Though Ryota was able to dispose of the enemy on his own, he was devastated to have lost his brother and alchemy partner.
Ryota went AWOL, leaving the military behind him with Ryuu’s body, never reporting his brother’s death with the hope that their alchemy and personal bond would reach across the world between life and death, and he would be able to bring his twin back, despite the fact that human alchemy was forbidden. However, when his transmutation began to fail, Ryota offered his entire body to the gate in the hope of giving his own life in exchange for his brother’s, and he disappeared into the void, leaving behind the beginnings of a homunculus.
Who found and nurtured Greed into a state where he could take care of himself is unknown. The first real memories that Greed has come from when he found himself alone once more, forced to continue to care for a raise himself as his personality began to become more and more pronounced. His caretaker had instilled in him knowledge of the most recent homunculi, but had told him little otherwise about what it meant to be what he was.
Thus, since then Greed has been on his own without real direction other than to satisfy his own wants and needs, which is an impossible task. He has since turned his scope towards the military and its leadership, seeing it as an obstruction to having his own true power, and strikes out often against military personnel when he is given the opportunity.
Abilities
Specialty:
Besides having a manipulative personality and a cunning wit, Greed also inherited the power of the previous Greed of turning his body into a shield towards most physical attacks. His weakness lies in direct attacks using alchemy rather than physical weaponry.
