Physical: Ausweg is immensely healthy and active for his age. He may be elderly, but he certainly is not weak. His body is chiseled with muscle and his skin has a slight bit of sag that adds to his aged look. Due to the natural deterioration of people of his age, his face shows many wrinkles and his bone structure is visible through his thin skin. One may look at him and would be very surprised by the great contrast between his old looks and his young activity level and amount of pure energy. His balding head has but a small amount of cloud white hair scattered around the sides and back; he has matching colored eyebrows as well. His skin is a deep tan color from the amount of sunlight that he has been exposed to. And, the quality of his skin is like sandpaper due to the fact that he smokes excessively.
Personality: From a quick glance the deep wrinkles and downward turned corners of his mouth would make Ausweg appear as a grumpy and unsatisfied old man. But, in reality, he is very lively, energetic, and kind; although, he can often get bursts of anger and may lash out if provoked. He tends to act very youthful and will show himself as ‘crazy.’ He does, however, act generally rude to new acquaintances that don’t meet his fancy. He will treat people with sarcasm and insults, hinting stupidity. But, not to fear! Once a person begins to gain interest in what Ausweg enjoys doing for a living he will act as he truly is, a kind and crazy old man. Once a person gets on his good side, he will insist that they call him by his nickname 'Aussy.'
History(opt): Ausweg’s history seems to be of little importance to him. Simply, he lived a ‘normal’ life and that was it. What he would rather dwell upon is his current life. On a normal day Ausweg wakes up in his ‘hut’ made from rocks and old wood scraps (He could care less about a beautiful home). He eats breakfast and leaves his home, heading toward the nearby ocean. The ocean is where Ausweg spends a lot of his free-time. He rather enjoys fishing and harpooning in his little wooden boat that is very well constructed by his own worn out hands. His white dog, Rein, accompanies him each day and stays close to his side.
When Ausweg is not relaxing he is working. With the aid of a bamboo glider and his abilities with air alchemy, he takes flight in the sky, flying high and low in search of a bird. The bird of his searching is very rare indeed. The Verbrennen (‘Combustion’) is a fiery-red colored hawk that soars in the sky throughout the desert. It is very unusual for any normal person to see this bird by just looking up. This hawk is very elusive and it can take an untrained person weeks to even see one of these birds. On top of its rare appearances is the ability of the bird to fly at high speeds and be able to change directions in an instant.
Ausweg has been hunting these hawks for years upon years and has become very skilled at capturing them. But why, you might ask, does this old man want with these birds? Within South City exists a disease. This disease was feared greatly in other parts of the land up north. But, the disease has spread into South City and has now terrorized the citizens with its horrifying effects. The disease is called ‘Blut-Sekretion Disease.' This affliction causes its victims to bleed more frequently and more easily. During the time-span of the disease its prey become increasingly deranged and insane within the mental status of the brain, causing disturbing, psycopathic, and hysterical behavior. Eventually, once the disease has developed and matured within the body, it causes its sufferers to secrete blood from all porous areas of the body. The victim can do nothing to stop the progression of the disease at this point and eventually will die of blood lose.
The disease is very strange, but IS curable through the use of a special substance found only within the bones of the Verbrennen Hawk. Thus, Ausweg’s duties are to capture these birds, extract the substance, and deliver it to the diseased citizens of South City. Requests are delivered to him by air-carriers (trained small birds) and he must then extract the required amount of the antidote. The journey that he must face to reach South City from his home is both dangerous and lengthy. But, with the use of his alchemy and his glider, he is able to reach the city and make the deliveries in a shorter period of time. Therefore, relying on Ausweg’s skills, the citizens of South City are not in fear of the disease.
As is displayed, Ausweg lives a live of great action and is constantly on his toes, even IF he is elderly!

Specialty: Ausweg has the ability to create wind through alchemy and is therefore an air alchemist. Through years of training he has mastered these abilities and can easily create wind with the tiny transmutation circles that he tattooed onto each and every one of his finger tips. With the use of his alchemy he can fly through the sky on his glider at high speeds, allowing him to accomplish his duties.
