//im sorry if it isnt so long, having part writers block and part i havnt been posting in a while//
Jonas was walking down the central street, looking for something new and interessting.. Something out of the ordinary... Something he didnt already know about.
He wanted to learn more, he would memorise everything he was ever taught and therefore wanted to learn everything... But... He havnt had one single mission as a state alchemist yet. Normaly those things where a great source of knowlegde
Where, where, WHERE!? There wherent anything he didnt already know about! It annoyed him a great deal... Well, except he still where waiting for a certain letter to arrive. The letter containing his new title as a state alchemist, his job name you could say.... What would it be!? He was guessing the frost alchemist but wasnt sure really... Knowing the fuhre (from books, stories and so on where he had learned about him). He hoped he wasnt gonna do something to give him a stupid title like alchemist of the books...
He forgot everything about where he was walking. And by accident suddenly stumped into someone...
Who was it?

“Oh, sorry about that young man,” an old lady apologized after bumping into Jonas.
Mikhail was coming out of the military’s headquarters in central. He had been given orders to temporarily keep an eye on a new state alchemist. As he was one of the oldest around, they had thought that he might be able to help the kid out with his new position. For Mikhail, it was just a complete and total headache, and he let the military know full well that was what he thought of it. A rather heated argument came out of it, with the usual complaints. Mikhail was a senior officer and should help the younger soldiers, and Mikhail just wanted to sleep in his office and be left alone.
His superiors won out, and now he was trudging along the streets of central looking for his young ward. As he did so, he started coming up with reasons in his mind to tell the man why he wouldn’t want Mikhail as a mentor. One of the ways he planned on doing it was to exaggerate the role his cane played in his movements, and made sure to deliberately tap it against the stone paths as loud as possible. The tapping seemed to annoy everyone around him, a good sign that it would work perfectly for what he needed to do. Add in his hair, which he left all messed up with bedhead on purpose, and he looked more suitable in a nursing home than in the military.
In that state he approached the rather frizzled alchemist Jonas. Before saying anything, however, Mikhail gave him a good lookover. He looked rather young, something that annoyed Mikhail to no ends. What was with the military recruiting all these young kids into it? They were already destroying the lives of its soldiers and enemies, did they have to ruin kids as well? Besides, in his experience, most young people who joined were just a bunch of hotheads wanting some action. Therefore, without even talking to him, Mikhail didn’t like him already.
“Hey, you, Jonas right? I’m Colonel Mikhail, the Organic Alchemist. The military has decided that I’m a rather bored person wanting something to do, and so have assigned me to look after you since you want to join. I’ll be nice and let you know right off the back I’m a rather cranky old ass. Blame it on the leg I got blown off in the Ishbal Massacres. I walk with a cane, and don’t really care what you think of me, and I don’t hold back on criticism. So then, if you want me to leave, go ahead and tell me to. In fact, I wouldn’t mind if you did so I could get the heck out of here.”

Jonas looked up and saw who it was, lovely..... He stretched his shoulders a bit before saying in a calm tone "eh, thats ok.
He had already read all he could in different libaries, which also meant the state libary. Yet he wanted to learn more, so in all secret he had slipped an "proposal" paper in with the higher up papers for him to get a temporary "mentor" you could say. And it seemed it had been approved. Brains 1 state 0
He had of course made sure he would be getting a specifik kind of mentor, one who wouldnt be a sweet, dumb, irrationel, illogical or in other ways annoying person.... thruth be told it was his first time actually wearing these clothes. Though they felt nice, mostly becouse they gave him more access to knowlegde, but also becouse some people would treat him nicely others would try to avoid him...
Jonas suddenly felt like he where being starred at, eyes drilling into his body from an unknown position. He looked around and saw what at first seemed to be a grumpy old man looking at him, though later he could clearly see who it was. His "mentor".
As he began speaking he could clearly hear the old guy had an accent, interresting... And old meant more experience and therefore more knowlegde he could squeeze out of him. he did a short salute before saying "yes i am sir, i am the Frost alchemist Jonas Niels......" He then listened to the person saying "and you wasnt bored? Also who cares what people think unless you need to?" He smiled a bit before continuing "cranky and critisising everything is a good thing if you ask me, makes people want to do better or worse and makes it easier to pick out the weaklings... Also i dont want you to leave, you see i love learning... About, well everything. And you seem like you have experienced alot and learned more... And that means i can learn alot from you." He couldnt wait to learn, even if it was the most useless pierce of information it would be plain awesome to learn about it.
"one question, any reason for you being an organic alchemist? Where it in a hope of getting your leg cured or just becouse its what you like? As far as i remember plants are both wonderful. But also very unpractical in many situations where most other alchemist ways would be alot better?" He felt a bit on home course when it came to alchemism so he couldnt help but to ask when he had the chance. He awaited an answer though it being served with a nice slice of sarcasm, critisim, and just plain jerkmeat heh.

As the kid started to speak, Mikhail’s mood started to worsen. Apparently the kid enjoyed his personality. No, not enjoyed, wanted someone like him. No matter how unpleasant Mikhail made himself sound, the kid responded enthusiastically. In his quest to get the kid to hate him, Mikhail had made him want him to be his mentor. Which meant that Mikhail couldn’t just run from it and get back to his own life.
“Alright kid, no need to salute me. As you can tell I’m not one for military protocol,” me grumbled off as the kid saluted him.
The kid was the “Frost Alchemist.” Hmm, Mikhail didn’t remember getting a memo about another ice-based alchemist. He remembered there was that one guy, Isaac wasn’t it? Then again, if his memory served, the guy had left the military so it probably didn’t matter.
“I wasn’t bored at all. I rather enjoyed taking naps in the office,” Mikhail responded when the kid mentioned it.
Listening to the rest of the stuff, while saddening Mikhail towards the fact he would loose all his free time at this rate, also made him think one good thing. The kid at least had a similar mindset as him. Of course, he was also rather clueless as to why Mikhail acted the way he did, and it wasn’t because of getting the weak out of the way. It was because everybody, weak or strong, deserved criticism. Everybody lied, everybody had secrets, and everybody has done something wrong at one point of their lives.
“Well, glad to hear you enjoy criticism because if I’m going to teach you, you’re going to hear a lot of it. Starting with your view its because I want to weed out the weak. That is not it at all. I criticize everyone, weak or strong. Everybody has failures, and everybody lies about them. If you don’t press them on it, they won’t break.”
When the kid brought up the question of why Mikhail became the organic alchemist, Mikhail could see the kid wasn’t as bright as he thought. He was going to chew him out on that for sure.
“I was the Organic Alchemist long before I lost my leg, and I’m smart enough to not even try and get it back. Unlike some other alchemist,” his mind wandered towards one of the more famous alchemist around, Edward Elric.
“Anyway, my alchemy has little to do with plants. Organic alchemy is simply alchemy related to interactions among carbon-compounds. Well, most of them anyway. There a few compounds that are considered inorganic, but they aren’t of my concern. I’m the closest thing an alchemist can be to being able to control life. Carbs, sugars, nucleic acids, many kinds of proteins, all my turf. If I wanted to, I could break up the carbohydrates that are giving your body energy right now and cause you to become sleepy, and then unconscious.”
With his little rant done, Mikhail shifted his cane around to become more comfortable. He smiled a little, as he was holding back some information form Jonas. While everything he said was true, there was a little more to Mikhail’s skills than meets the eye. He had been given the title Organic Alchemist because of his skill in manipulating organic compounds, but Mikhail played around with carbon in general. His cane was made up of carbon, and if done right, could be made into a small sword of diamond. Admittedly he wasn’t a master swordsman, but it was a handy skill. Add in that there were non-life based organic compounds, like plastics, and Mikhail had a much wider range of abilities than Jonas originally thought.

//ofc i do belive you , p.s sorry i havnt been capable of answering the last 2 days, have had a friend over // Mikhail was interresting... Very interresting, he was hoping to learn alot from this guy. "yer i can see that from your clothes. Though that only makes you more interresting." He already knew that Mikhail wasnt a very much of a people person. Still he really didnt mind that, if he could learn something from him. Then Jonas would be happy //if i had wrote he it would have been like Mikhail would be happy xD// he listened carefully to every single word comming from Mikhails mouth, making sure he got everything. He could almost feel that warm bubling feeling people get when they open a present wherein the item they wanted for a long time is in. "critisim will only make the teaching easier, plus you get to get out some hatred for me which you proberly will develop as you dont seem to like people who are to interested to learn from and or about you". He could almost feel how the coporal Mikhail didnt like it when he asked alot, perhaps he should try a different method of getting knowlegde out of him... As Mikhail explained how his organic alchemy wasnt about plants he facepalmed himself, why didnt he think twice? It was one of his most important rules... Think before act, perhaps it was becouse of the fact he was so interested that he forgot everything else. "interesting, sounds pretty good if you need to get someone to follow with you. Thou i prefer to just cause people to faint by keeping their blood from their brain in a very very short time, dont worry its so short it dosnt really cause any permanent brain damagde, of course they would have a big headache but thats about it." Even though he knew what he where talking about he had only done it once... Wasnt pretty really, but it worked so who cares about how it looked? Jonas looked at the cane as it was switched, why was he useing a cane? Why not just get an automail, it was painful and took years of recovery, but heck he didnt seem like the person who would mind resting for a few years... That feeling, almost like a lust for knowing why, but he didnt ask. It would just annoy him futher, and he wasnt trying to piss him off.... It was hard to get good info out of angry teachers... He streched his arms and said "that makes me wonder by the way, if you can do all that. Wouldnt jewelery shops and such all go bankrupt becouse you could create diamonds out of simple coal?"

“You know, you’re a really annoying person. Always asking questions and stuff. Learning is fine and all, but know that sometimes there are things out there you don’t want to learn about.”
Mikhail meant every word of it. In the military one easily figured out there were secrets hiding behind doors, and that if one learned them, they’d be in for a world of trouble. He had hear rumors of soldiers digging into the depths of the military, only to be killed. For Mikhail, it was a rather pointless. It was a very rare day that he dug into the classified and off limit sections of the military’s library or files to find something. It was better to live life in the dark than to die over some useless information.
“As for your methods, I can knock them out too. I just said that. For a person who says he likes to learn, you don’t listen well, do you. Besides, controlling people with alchemy is too much work, and probably forbidden if my memory serves. I can tell you right now that even if I don’t enjoy the establishment and enjoy messing with it, there are limits to what I will do. And human alchemy outside of medical needs and combat is one of them. Mind control, bringing the dead back from the grave, all off limits.”
Mikhail noticed that the boy was looking at his cane, and assumed the curious lad was wondering why he was using one. Automail was easy enough to get for someone like him, and in fact he was using it. The cane was just to balance out his walking some since the automail he had was rather old and hadn’t grown with the other leg. He would be walking with a limp without the cane. Besides, who would ever suspect a man with a cane would be a high ranked State Alchemist?
“Ah, diamonds. Fascinating things. Made out of pure carbon and made with intense pressure and heat. Of course, I could turn carbon into diamond like you said, but that’s against the law. Or at least I believe it is. If we can’t turn stuff into gold, I would assume diamond would be off limits as well. Does make for a nice battle weapon though.”
Wanting to go ahead and get it out of the way, Mikhail decided to show his leg off to the kid. He mumbled something to Jonas about it as he crouched over and grabbed a hold of the pants leg. Slowly, he started to roll it up, and soon a small section of metal could be seen. As he rolled, more and more began to show until it was obvious his entire leg was made out of automail.
“Since you were staring at my cane, though I’d show you this. Lost it in Ishval when I was younger, as I said. It’s old, but it holds up rather nicely. Can’t remember who made it though. Stonewall or something about rocks was in the name. So then, any more questions about me you want to ask so I can ignore them or get them out of the way?”

“You know, you’re a really annoying person. Always asking questions and stuff. Learning is fine and all, but know that sometimes there are things out there you don’t want to learn about.”Jonas smiled as he where called an annoying person, he knew it very well and didnt really care for it. Wether people would get annoyed by his personality was their problem not his. When Mikhail mentioned about stuff he wouldnt want to learn about he simply said "tsh//this being said in the not dumbass/bimbo/other way //. If i can learn without risks about something i would gladly learn it. No matter how horrifying it is. We all have something we are good at and want to expand to the limitless, for example some want to be very good at alchemy... Some are just good at avoiding work, and i am good at learning and storaging info... Its simply what i do. Besides i rather live a few years feeling happy and filled with the knowlegde of acomplisment... Which of course is worth nothing... But still i would rather live those years than my life in darkness and hiding.... Its simply just not me".as he was getting told he didnt listen much he kinda felt he agreed, he was proberly a bit overstimulated from meeting Mikhail... Which caused him to listen a bit less than normal... Oh well. "of course its illegal as it goes against basic human rights, but even with rules i still think that sometimes theres more important stuff than rules..... Oh and i dont listen much right now becouse im proberly getting a bit overstimulated from getting new knowlegde from a person with alot of experience."Mikhail said something about brining people back from the dead and sighed before saying "the only reason thats not allowed is becouse it havnt been done succesfully before, unless we of course count in those homunculi. If it was easy to bring people back from the grave or simply mind control people, it would be something normal.... Trust me if it was hard and a painful procedure to create medicine, and there was chances of homunculi being created in the procces... Well then it pretty much would be banned too wouldnt it???" he choughed once, once again he had talked a bit much... Proberly should refrain from telling him any personel oppinions... Oh well to late. he listened to Mikhail again about how diamonds where formed, its use, and it proberly being illegal to create... "well the reason gold is off limits is of course its value, but also simply becouse you cant just create gold... While diamonds are created out of carbon we can make it... But i kinda find it odd that no one as far as i have been capable of seeing have been arrested for or even been seen creating diamonds... But i guess its becouse the alchemy way is to fast which would make the diamonds unstable and useless for more than a quick scam" As mikhail mentioned weaponery he thought about it, as diamonds was the hardest of the hardest it would make a nice weapon... Maybe it would also be good projectiles? He took out his little black notebook and instantly wrote down: "diamonds, projectiles, weaponery, other uses" He then put it into his pocket again together with the tiny pen. as he where shown the automailed. He kinda couldnt help but to plain stare, it almost confused him at first why he then used a cane. Then it hit him the automail proberly was getting a bit old, and wasnt that good. "thanks for showing me, i appriciate it. But just a question more, why havnt you had it upgraded? I mean shouldnt be hard to find automail smiths and such around.... But on the other side the cane does give a certain impression, besides i can figure the cane also allows you to be a little more of a jerk than other people... And skipping lines and so on hehe"

Overstimulated? What, was knowledge this guys equivalent of sex? There just seemed to be something wrong with that statement of his that Mikhail didn’t exactly enjoy. Besides, the kid apparently missed the point of his little rant. There were reasons such things were banned, and it wasn’t just because of human rights issues. The Homunculi he mentioned had been some of the worst and nastiest creatures the world had seen, and were dangerous to boot. Death was the one thing that alchemist should not mess with; it would only lead to more trouble.
”Kid, while your enthusiasm is ‘appreciated’, you’re still just a kid. No matter what you think, death is not something that alchemy can reverse. All you get for your efforts are creatures like the homunculi, and you saw how well they turned out to be. If you get the chance, talk to a kid named Edward Elric. I’m sure he’ll beat some sense into that head of yours.”
Of course, the kid quickly switched topics and started going on and on about diamonds, but at least in that case he got the point. Alchemist simply couldn’t just make money like that. It would throw the economy in a fit, or something like that. All he knew was it involved inflation and other economic points that he really didn’t care. Of course, it hasn’t stopped him from making a quick buck when he was short on cash. Not that it was in any large amount of course. As for the kids notebook, Mikhail just ignored it. If the kid thought all this was worth writing down, then there as no point to argue about it. Not like it would help him anyway.
Mikhail did smile a little at the comment about how the cane let him be a jerk. Apparently it took this long for the kid to realize that advantage. Admittedly, Mikhail felt no shame in taking advantage of his ‘handicapped’ status to get ahead sometimes. Besides, made people underestimate his skills as an alchemist, and it was always fun to beat someone over the head with it.
”That’s one reason for the cane. You’d be amazed how different people treat a cripple. Tell them I lost the leg in Ishval, and they’ll be running each other over to help me. But I don’t get the leg upgraded because I see no point. It’s still working, in decent shape, and it has some sentimental value that I’m not in the mood to discuss.”
Mikhail looked up at the sky for the moment too see how far in the day it was. He was hoping this meeting was going to be over soon so he could get back to his office and nap. This was getting to be a bother, and he wanted to leave as soon as possible.

”Kid, while your enthusiasm is ‘appreciated’, you’re still just a kid. No matter what you think, death is not something that alchemy can reverse." Jonas both smiled and get a bit frustated...kid... He looked at Mikhail and said in a very serius tone "thou i may appear to be inexperienced and my body is still in the stage of development that does not mean im dumber nor weaker than an average adult......" And as he talked about death he couldnt help but to smile. To him death didnt seem frightening at all... Who cares if it all ended? He enjoyed his life so far and thats enough reason to be living. and when he died well thats the end of the ride... "the reason death cannot be cured becouse we cannot recreate the brain into the tiniest detail... If we could do that, and recreate the body without those homuncoli... Which i by the way already meet 3 of...." he instantly held his mouth...DUMBASS he had promised them not to tell... he acted as he hadnt said that and said "if we could do that we could technically revive a person, but it wouldnt be the same person... Besides the whole subject have been thrown away from the very start and only a few people have ever done brocken that law... " He smiled a bit "remember what people have said about different medicin, machine and so on through the ages? Think it goes like it will never be possible... but as a years go we get closer to the goal... If there where serius research on reviving people it proberly would be possible at a point.. We just gotta remember one thing alchemy is not omnipotent... We want life we gotta sacrifice life..." He was overtalking again...danmit...
Edward Elric.. "Ah you mean the full metal alchemist. As far as my knowlegde goes he wears automail and his brother "wears" a giant suit of armor.... And to be frank and that a good hint towards the fact that he proberly have done it himself.... Like you meant... Failure is never a reason to stop researching. But if the price is too high to continiue one should stop...... But yes i would love to meet him, would be interresting to learn from him"
Mikhail almost proudly talked about how well he got treated when he where talking to people about his leg. He smiled a bit and said "must be pretty danm..umm. awesome or so.. Dont get me wrong it proberly was horrible to loose the leg and such but past is past for a reason..."
"sentimental value that im not in the mood to discuss"
"got it, dont ask dont tell....."
He felt that feeling of overstimulation on him again and put his hands together. Finger on its "brother" on the other hand until it was a simple U //with all fingers touch the other finger on the other hand.... or something hope you understand//.. He took a deep breath and then said in a very low mutter "all better".
He looked up on Mikhail and said "sooo do you enjoy any kind of entertainment that invovles messing with people without truly ruining their day or life hehe? Im guessing just talking is kinda boring for you... And if i keep talking ill just be overstimulated for the rest of the day, which you proberly wont like... Or we could go slack off somewhere... Its best we stay together if one of us isnt seen with the others by anyone in the higher areas who put out the order about it we are both gonna get our behinds heated if you understand my point." He knew if he where seen without Mikhails acompany he would proberly get into a lot of trouble as he had worked alot to get this temporary "mentor" and as he was pretty new in the state alchemists he could risk being fired..

“It’s not that you are dumb and weaker, it’s your way to enthusiastic. But I don’t really care by this point.” Mikhail responded, placing his hand on his head as he sighed.
For someone who was supposed to be ‘smart’, he was stubborn and thick as a brick wall. It just wasn’t getting through to him that alchemist weren’t gods. If he wanted to bring up zombies, then all power to him. It just meant right afterwards he’d be killed by either his creation, or the military if they caught him in his experiments. Mikhail may have a history of ignoring authority, but even he had limits. And the rules of nature tended to be a pretty good spot for him to limit himself.
”Kid, ask anyone who has researched human alchemy, and they’ll tell you that you are a complete and total moron. The issue with bringing back people from death isn’t a physical one. No matter what you offer up, no matter how close they are to the original, something isn’t right about them. I hate to get all poetic on you because I’m not very interested in poetry, but there is nothing that can be equivalently exchanged for a human soul, or at least that’s a good thing to call that missing part.”
He listened to the rest of the kids ranting on about medicine and technology and sacrifice and blah blah blah. It was all a bunch of rubbish really. There was a massive difference between searching for the cure for the common cold, and trying to bring someone back to life. The rest of his statements kind of sounded like backtracking and trying to cover up his idiocy. He wanted to do serious research and that reviving people was possible, but then said if the cost was too much to quit. Not only was this kid an idiot, but he was an inconsistent one
However, the mentioning of the homunculi he ‘met’ was more interesting to him, so he decided to focus on that part. He grabbed a hold of the kid and looked him straight in the eye, a little bit of curiosity and anger in his eyes.
”Where were these homunculi? Trust me, after all this country has been through, the military isn’t going to be too happy to hear one of its members has been harboring the result of illegal experimentation, if that’s the case”

Jonas sighed... soul... The one thing that pained him... illogical and stupid... "ugh... In some way your proberly right... Its kinda weird the whole soul part... I mean its proven in its own way look at the full metal alchemists brother, his soul is bound to a armor... But still makes no sense at all... but if thats possible.. And know im not gonna research this futher, im simply not in the place to do it... But technically a person can be immortal by getting some idiots to bind his soul to a newly created husk all the time... I mean thats a sort of immortality not counting in sudden death of course."Mikhail mentioned the homunculi and swallowed a bit of spit. His fingers hitting each other slowly and constantly... A bit a sweat began to form and he said "i kinda said i wouldnt tell, besides they didnt seem evil nor in anyway inhuman... I have meet a thousand people worse than them... Besides it was only for a few hours... Rearching you know." He instantly realised Mikhail maybe thought he had found them on purpose.. he put his hands up front and said loud at first but then slowly the voice went down "I DIDnt find them on purpose if thats what you mean. Besides i dont know where they are..." he swallowed a bit more of spit... This wasnt gonna be good for his job..... He was almost running the whole scenario where fuhre would have him fired, or worse... even thou he tried to keep himself from showing anything close to emotions other than a bit of regret. He looked at Mikhail with a slight smile //the kind mixed with hope and ask for forgiveness // "am i in big trouble???"

Now the kid was starting to get it…sort of. At least he was admitting playing with the dead was much more complicated than he made it out to be. Of course, then he started blabbing on about immortality. Such things were overrated in Mikhail’s mind. Why would anyone want to live forever was well beyond his understanding. Boredom would eventually became a rather constant companion, and the constant switching of bodies would probably be a massive stress on your soul.
”Well, at least you are starting to get it. I personally find immortality overrated though. You’d get bored real easily if you ask me.”
When it came to the issue of the homunculi, the kid seemed rather nervous. Not a surprising thing, since Mikhail just told him he was currently committing a crime. He just decided to mess with him, however, and gave him an evil glare as he talked. The kid was rather defensive about it, claiming he didn’t know where they are and that he didn’t try to find them on purpose. He was even concerned about being in big trouble. Technically he was, but Mikhail wasn’t going to turn him in for this. No, he had better ideas for it.
”Theoretically, I should turn you in for this. But that would mean more paperwork, court dates, and other bothersome things, so I’m going to give you a task. I want you to find those homunculi. They should be easy to find. How many other almost immortal superhumans are out there? And when you find them, I’d like to have a word with them.” [/blockquote]

[[its ok =)]]
Even thou Jonas felt a bit...upset? About Mikhail jabbering about his little mindslip.. He still had somewhat control of the situation. He just had to play it right here... Wait... Immortality... boring??? But.. he looked at Mikhail "but theres eternal information to be learned, how could you ever get bored!?... Eh i guess not everyone likes learning" he sighed.
Mikhail seemed like the type who would act any way to get things done like he wanted them too, he wanted to get rid of an annoyance like Jonas... And he was a lazy so certainly not a paper pusher... He felt nervous but it changed for a short time when Jonas realised this
he looked at Mikhail with a smirk and said "as you said you would get more paperwork, but also remember im young, im a nerd, a bookworm, a goodi boy... seriusly with you current standing and you reputation for doing what needed to get to be lazy, do you really think they would belive you when you report that i said i meet 3 homuncoli in one day at the same time? Or would they belive me saying you only say that so you could get rid of me. Besides the mountains of paperwork you would get just to report it... pft comeon i may only have talked with you for what? like 20 minutes but its obvius already now that you wouldnt do that." Jonas felt he was right.
he smiled a bit and took a deep breath "besides, if you reported me for that i could counter it with what you just said, this whole conversation wouldnt fit your person without it anyway. Thats Blackmail Mikhail, and as far as i remember the state does not look well upon blackmailers..." Jonas felt pretty danm secure all of a sudden... he looked a last time at Mikhail and said "also i really dont know where they are i let them go each their way once i got the info i wanted."
